Twin Lake Volunteers finished erecting sign

Red Rooster Visitor Center Docents

We are always looking for volunteers to cover 3 hour shifts. Please contact Colleen Schweigert at 303.324.4346 if you have a heart for sharing information with visitors to our beautiful area. Training provided and payment in lots of smiles!

  • May 17th Annual Heritage Park Clean UP. From 9 to 12ish-for the summer season showcasing our lovely area to welcome visitors and for the enjoyment of residents. Because we have sandwiches being donated by The Twin Lakes Inn–we need an accurate count of volunteers.  RSVP to friendsoftwinlakes@gmail.com as we need a number for lunch and snacks.
    • Wear long sleeves, long pants, sturdy shoes, gloves and bring sunscreen, ear protection, bug spray, hat and sunglasses in case you need them.
    • Bring your favorite weed whacker, lopper, push broom, yard rake, shovel, hedge trimmer or anything else that might help the effort!  We will have tools on site, too.
    • We will have water and light snacks available before lunch.
    • Due to the nature of the hard work involved, we will offer parking passes for Twin Lakes Day Use areas for the summer for this event, if the worker also agrees to work at least 1 shift at the Visitor Center or an additional 3 hour Heritage Park or Beach/Dexter Cabin clean up (2 Beach/Dexter Cabin clean ups will also earn a pass).
  • Highway Clean Up, most sections are still available both sides of Highway 82 from mm 79 to Highway 24. Can be done on your own schedule, but desired finish is before Memorial Day Weekend.
    • We currently need some help to clear garbage on both sides of Highway 82 MM79-ighway 24.  Please reply to this email if you can take one side of a mile or both sides of a whole mile.
    • Due to weather challenges, we understand if you are not able to complete your section before Memorial Day.
    • We recommend work gloves, long sleeves, sturdy shoes, a grabber, and wearing a safety vest.
    • In addition to the orange bags that we will provide, we have safety vests for you to borrow and disposable gloves to wear over your work gloves.
